There are certain seasons of life that feel ordinary while you’re living them. They pass quietly, almost unnoticed, until one day you realize how quickly they slipped by.

Pregnancy is filled with anticipation. There is so much wondering, dreaming, and imagining the little person you are about to meet. It’s a unique season of life where everything feels both slow and fast at the same time. You’re waiting, preparing, and realizing that life is about to change in the most beautiful way.
As a Belton family photographer serving various areas of Bell County such as Temple, Belton, Salado, and Harker Heights, I speak with so many parents about the unique qualities of this season. And if I’m being honest, this is also personal for me.
I didn’t get maternity or newborn photos taken when I had my first baby, and I truly regret it.
I regret not investing in images that would preserve a season we will never get back. Yes, we will have more children, but the first pregnancy bump and those first quiet newborn days are moments that can never be recreated.
I’ve already told my husband that when we have another baby, I’m not missing it again. We’re documenting it all.
When your baby is born, you start noticing the smallest details in a way you never did before. The little fingers wrapped around yours. The softness of their cheeks. The way their features change just a little every day. You notice how perfectly they fit in your arms, like they were always meant to be there.
And then, almost without realizing it, it all begins to change.
Their fingers grow longer. Their newborn features slowly become less squished and more defined. The tiny body that once curled perfectly against your chest suddenly stretches the length of your torso.
It happens gradually, but one day you wake up and realize how much has changed.
