Family Photos at Nolan Creek
As a Central Texas family photographer, I get the honor of documenting so many beautiful stories—but every once in a while, a session carries history, friendship, faith, and full-circle moments all wrapped into one. This family session in Belton, Texas was exactly that.
The mama in these photos and I go back to our college days, where we served as resident assistants together and were later roommates at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Long before either had thoughts of motherhood, I had the privilege of watching her relationship with her now-husband bloom. From dating to engagement to marriage, their relationship has always been anchored in their faith. They prioritize the Lord so beautifully, and now the love they have for each other is being poured into their beautiful baby boy.
Fast forward to today, and life brought us together again during one of the most transformative seasons: pregnancy and motherhood. We found out we were pregnant around the same time and walked through it all side by side. My own journey shifted when I delivered my baby five weeks early, but now our boys are almost exactly one month apart.
Her baby boy is, without question, one of the squishiest, most joyful little guys I’ve ever photographed. The cheeks. The rolls. The laughter. All of their joy brought so much life and laughter to this session, making every image feel full of warmth and personality. As a family photographer, these are the moments I live for—the in-between smiles, the quiet snuggles, the joy that can’t be posed.
During the Design Consultation, we chose The Gin at Nolan Creek in Belton, TX for their session location, which made the experience even more meaningful. This location isn’t just a beautiful outdoor setting for family photos in Central Texas—it’s where they got engaged. Photographing their growing family in the same place their story began felt incredibly special and symbolic. The natural light, open space, and sentimental significance made it the perfect backdrop for their family photos.
Watching these parents soak in their baby boy—kissing his cheeks, laughing at his expressions, holding him close—was such a powerful reminder of how fleeting this season is. Newborn and baby stages pass quickly, but photographs allow families to return to these moments again and again.
This session captured everything I love about my job as a family photographer in Central Texas: connection, legacy, faith, and joy. From college roommates to mothers, from engagement memories to family portraits, this session was filled with meaning far beyond the images themselves.
If you’re searching for a family photographer in Bell County, or someone to document your growing family in a natural, heartfelt way, I would be honored to tell your story. These early days are precious—and they deserve to be remembered beautifully.
